The Angel's Death
Quaking below the surface
In the deep lies a submerged soul
In the dungeons of the mind, in the darkest place
Lie embers of a tale untold
It is here my virginal spirit rests
And the sinless psyche exudes a cry
While morality questions and probes and tests
What practicality gambles to defy
Drowned I am in misery
In the fathomless ocean of tears
Unsolved in the mists of my own mystery
The immaculate innocence of years
Some days it awakens and kindles me
My child like transparent side
But today it’s more silent than stillness of the sea
Or then choked by ignorance it died
Some nights I shudder in my sleep
I feel it beat in my heart and quiver in my breath
Yet the slumber of indifference is deep
And has caused the angel’s death
Quaking below the surface
In the deep lies a submerged soul
In the dungeons of the mind, in the darkest place
Lie embers of a tale untold
It is here my virginal spirit rests
And the sinless psyche exudes a cry
While morality questions and probes and tests
What practicality gambles to defy
Drowned I am in misery
In the fathomless ocean of tears
Unsolved in the mists of my own mystery
The immaculate innocence of years
Some days it awakens and kindles me
My child like transparent side
But today it’s more silent than stillness of the sea
Or then choked by ignorance it died
Some nights I shudder in my sleep
I feel it beat in my heart and quiver in my breath
Yet the slumber of indifference is deep
And has caused the angel’s death

u speak of love with such depth and clarity, there are lines in your poems and your post Memoirs Of Fragrance which speak of pain, infact they gave me the feeling the pain might be understating what you have seen.
I have always seen that pain, misery and intelligence are ingredients of beautiful souls.
would love to have a conversation with you about your perceptions of life..
there are times when i find myself talking to LIFE as if it were a person,
have u done that, what kinda questions would you want answered, and i don't mean philosophical ones...
